The Shep has a proud legacy rooted in craft beer and phenomenal customer service. Our journey began in 1998 when our first location opened its doors in Haledon, NJ. As a trailblazer for craft beer in New Jersey, it set the standard for excellence and was recognized as the Best Craft Beer Bar in the state. Founded by Chris Schiavo, our bar became a beloved destination for beer enthusiasts and community gatherings. In 2021, he passed the torch, selling the Haledon location. Today, his son, Joseph, proudly carries on his legacy by running The Shep in Hoboken, NJ (est. 2016). With the same commitment to quality, innovation, and community spirit, we continue to honor our family tradition while creating new memories for our guests.
